SERMON LINKS: Audio (MP3)   |   Powerpoint (PPS)   |   Outline (PDF)

We all want to make a lasting difference in the lives of those around us. On Sunday we learned that we need to do two things to make that happen: pray about it and talk about it.

So... what next?

Here are a few suggestions for your next steps - from classes to further reading to online materials and more.

For Further Thought:
Read Colossians 4:2-6 and discuss the following.

  • In advancing the gospel, what role is played by prayer? By watchfulness? Thankfulness? Open doors? Closed doors or chains? Wise actions? Opportunism? Graceful talk? Salty talk?
  • Why is thankfulness such a key ingredient in a Christian's life (see Colossians 2:6 and 3:15,17)?
  • What has helped you grow the most in your prayer life? What obstacles to prayer do you feel now?
  • From verses 5-6, what principles do you want to build into your life as you relate to non-believers?

A Prayer for the Week:
Dear Father, who answers our prayers,
Help me to be steadfast in my praying to you, even to stay awake that I may pray! Fill my life with thanksgiving to you. O God, I pray for all your servants everywhere that you may open a door for us to proclaim your Word, to declare the now-public secret - Christ crucified, glorified, and coming - and to make the message clear, as we ought to speak.
In the name of Jesus I ask you to fill our lives with your holy life and to claim all our motives and deeds as your own. Amen.

Memory Verse:

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."
Colossians 4:2 NIV

clock DON'T FORGET!! Beginning on December 23, our service times will change (yes, we LOVE change!). We'll have two services at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.

Colossians: We're almost done studying the book of Colossians. Let's read the book one more time this week. It's a short read, but packed with wisdom your heart needs to hear:
