Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

Getting a Christmas gift may not be a life-changing event for most of us, but it could mean the world to a needy child.

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. This program of Samaritan's Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas - Jesus Christ, God's greatest gift. Along with shoe box gifts, millions of children are given Gospel booklets in their own language. Last year, over 7.6 million shoe box gifts were collected worldwide and distributed to children in 95 countries.

carton of shoeboxesThis year, HighPoint Fellowship will again serve as an area collection point for Cedar Park, Leander and the surrounding area. We will be collecting shoeboxes filled with special gifts during the Collection Week - November 17-24, 2008.

It's so easy to bring hope and love to a child through Operation Christmas Child. Follow the instructions for filling a shoebox and bring it to HighPoint Fellowship during collection week. And what a wonderful opportunity to involve your children in selflessly reaching out to another child.

If you would like to volunteer, SIGN UP TODAY! We need each 2008 OCC Team Volunteer to register to help us in planning for events, national collection week and so you will automatically receive updates via e-mail. If you have any questions, contact our OCC team at occ@hpf.org.
